In Flandiers Fields Tribute

In Flanders Fields was a poem written in May 1915 by Canadian physician and soldier Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae during WW1 following the death of a fellow soldier and friend during the Second Battle of Ypres in Belgium. Originally McCrae was dissatisfied with the poem and threw it away, but another officer recognized the significance recovered it and helped get it submitted for publication. What was once nearly thrown away would become one of the most enduring works of the First World War — and a defining symbol of remembrance in Canada.

Turn the watch over and the story continues. The engraved caseback features the Canadian Expeditionary Force maple leaf surrounded by Canadian First World War Battle Honours — a permanent tribute to service, sacrifice and courage.

At the heart of the CTW01 is the trusted NH35 automatic movement, chosen for its reliability, durability and ease of service. Powered by movement rather than a battery, it was designed to be worn for years to come.

WHY WE BUILT IT

Most of our watchmaking team are Canadian Armed Forces veterans. We wanted to create something that could be built here in Canada and carry meaning beyond its function as a watch. The CTW01 – In Flanders Fields is a tribute to those who served, those who sacrificed, and the responsibility carried by future generations to remember them.
